Hey All and welcome back to my blog. I hope everyone had an amazing summer/quarantine (which is still in effect) and ready to have a productive Autumn season. Do you like the new layout on my page?
If you haven’t been following me, I decided to start a music career in the middle of a global pandemic. Now, I’m using the term “career” lightly as it is a simple hobby that no one really knows about except…. you— now, lol. If you go back and read some of the exclusive posts, you will find out why I started this blog site. I mainly have Covid to thank because it allowed me tap into some of my hidden hobbies. Music has always been apart of my life and felt that now was the time to share my art/creations with the public. With that energy, I created my first EP titled, ‘The Underground.’ Recently, I have been sharing older instrumentals that I created 5+ years ago and formed other EP’s; however, Underground is my first “proper” musical piece. You can find my music on YouTube and SoundCloud. I go by the moniker DeMarcus Houdini. Check out my latest EP’s, ‘The Underground‘ and ‘Midnight Sessions.’
Since it’s September, we all love a good transition from one moment to the next. For instance, the weather. That late summer/early fall wind hits a whole lot different around this time especially after the summer we’ve had. In my world, this moment of transition is different because I’m no longer in school. I never knew a time where I wouldn’t have to attend an educational institution. At first, I was weary. I didn’t know what to do with myself but instead of freaking out completely, I just passive aggressively went through life for about 2-3 weeks angry and exhausted and being over worked. Now, I’m turning that energy into something productive like changing my mindset, drinking more water, reconnecting with old friends that I haven’t spoken to in years. I’m actively letting go things that don’t bring added value. While this may seem easy to some, it’s quite hard for me to do but I’ve learned when letting go, there doesn’t have to be conflict. Maybe you’ve outgrow a situation, a person, or those clothes you’re still holding on to— it’s time to put those things behind you. If said thing is still bothering you, look deeper into the situation and figure out why. Maybe you need to reconcile, forgive, apologize, take a different approach to fully move forward— it’s all about perspective. Putting your pride aside for better health and vision can do wonders. I wish you the best.
As the title says, fall back into action. Let’s keep making strides for justice, peace, love, and light. We must create a future that gives us all a right and a chance to win.
P.S. I can’t say September without mentioning Earth, Wind, and Fire. Quick Story: A friend and I once went to a bar (and grille??) in St. Louis and danced to the iconic song next to the juke and security officer by the door. A time to be alive.
See you all next time!
